My Fertility Journey

Assalamualaikum and good day,

As promised, this entry will talk about my fertility journey towards conception. When we were in our early marriage, we never suspected that we have a problem on having a child by our own. It all begun after 9 month in our marriage (as what I said on my previous entry). One of my friend sugest  me to see obgyn and ask for clomid. She told me that clomid will helps women to get pregnant. So I did. My husband faithfully giving me full support by accompanying me to the clinic.

The obgyn scans me and he said I can conceive. But still, I suggest him to give me Clomid as I have problems with my menstruation. So he agreed. He gave me 50mg white,round and small tablet to consume Day 2-Day6 during menstruation. I'm happy that I get the medicine altogether with Progesterone tablet(which I did mention that round white tablet to stop my menses). He did not said anything to monitor my cycles and I thought maybe it was the clinic's procedure.

So, here it goes my first attempt on consuming Clomid. At that time, I really don't know what's going to happened, the side effect and everything. I did my own research on clomid but not so indepth. Luckily, I get to know my ovulation date by using Ovulation Predictor Kit(OPK). So, we BD on the date I saw my OPK positive. For me all this are my biggest experience to my fertility journey.

The Journey Begin Here

Assalamualaikum and good day,

My name is yun. Married to my beloved husband at the age of 27 on 20.10.2007. My fertility journey begun 9 month after we married. But before that, let me tell you the untold story before I knew that i got PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome).

My menstruation cycles begun on the age of 10 years old. Quite early for some girls. I have no menstruation problem at all until I was 13 years old. When I was 13, my mentruation cycles just like anywhere, it only comes 2-3 times in a year. I did ask my mom about this and she said that she been like that too when she was at her young age. So, I just let it be and think it may be normal for some girls.

My mentruation problem at the peak when I was working as a supervisor in Floristry company. After working for almost 1 month with the company I found that my menstruation does not stop until it was almost 2 month. I really don't know either tiredness makes my menstruation like that. kind of weird. During that period, I notice that I lose some weight and my face is just lose some blood. ya maybe it's because my mentruation does not stop and i lose more blood. My boyfriend (my husband now) and I went so many clinics but none of their medication can stop the bleeding. Among medication that were given to me is Vitamins, Iron and of course Evening Primrose Oil. One day, my bf suggest we go to women specialist so we find 1 specialist (Gynae/Obgyn) in Puchong area.

The obgyn/gynae then scan me and he found out that my ovaries has a symptom of pcos where the unruptured ovum makes a chain around the ovaries. He asked me to find out what is PCOS by myself. Other than that, he said I have an imbalance hormone, that's why my period does not want to stop. So he gave me a white small tablet to be consumed everyday until the period stop. Amazingly, it worked. At that time, I did not know what's the name of that tablet. But I'm happy as my period has stopped though the fee is so truly damn expensive.
